How to install apps remotely on Android
There’s a need at times to install apps on your Android device despite not having it in your hands at that moment. Installing apps remotely is a handy feature for when you see apps but had left your phone elsewhere.
However, it will work only if you have your Google account registered on your phone, and you’re using the same Google account to browse the Play Store on your computer. It’s actually easier than it sounds, and requires only a computer with Internet access and using the Google Play Store website.

Go to the Google Play Store website. It is assumed here that you are logged into your Google account on the Android device where you wish to install apps remotely. On your computer, open your Internet browser, copy and paste this link into the address bar, and hit Enter:

Log into the Play Store. Do so by clicking on the “Sign In” button at the top right corner of the web page. Enter the email address and the password of the Google account you are using on your Android device, and click on “Sign in” at the bottom of the login page.
- You will then be taken to the Google Play Store screen again. Direct your gaze to the top right corner where you should see your name displayed.

Choose an app. Browse the store for an app you wish to install remotely. You can select the app you wish to download by clicking on it.
- You can also use the search bar at the top of the Google Play Store screen to type an app name if you have a particular one in mind.

Start installing the app. In the top portion of the app description page that appears, click on “Install.”

Select the device where the app should go. At the bottom of the next screen, which is the permissions window, you will see a drop-down menu from which you can select the particular device you wish to install the application on. (This is useful if you use multiple devices with one Google account.)
- Click the drop-down menu, and select the device.

Click the “Install” button at the bottom of the window. The app should begin downloading and installing immediately.
- When you get hold of your Android device again, there should be a Play Store notification telling you that the app has been installed on the device.
